Anastasia Christiansen Anne (Kita) Christiansen passed away at Hospice House in Wausau on August 31, 2021. Mom took great pride in taking care of her family and her home. She enjoyed spending weekends at the cottage on Burrows Lake, loved listening to country music, reading, sewing, and looking for bargains at garage sales. She was a very talented woman, and took many evening classes at Northcentral Technical College. She learned to upholster furniture, create beautiful floral centerpieces and became an excellent seamstress. She made suits for our dad, draperies for our house, and some of our clothing. She especially loved the cooking classes and outdoor grilling classes that she took, and quickly became a master cook and outdoor grill Master. Her beef vegetable soup simmering all day over the campfire at the cottage was one of our favorites. Her true passion was gardening. She loved her outdoor greenhouses, spectacular flower gardens, and large vegetable garden. Every fall, Mom would can and freeze all of the vegetables that were grown. Her shelves and freezer were always full. Over the years, her family grew just like her gardens. She is survived by four children and their spouses: Craig (Barb) Christiansen, Carrie (Jerry) Wood, Brian (Vikki) Christiansen, and Brenda (Rod) Niemuth; 4 grandchildren, Matthew (Julie), Lucas (Diana), Laura (Kyle), and Megan; and three great grandchildren Elijah, Clara, and Amelia. Anne was born on February 1, 1940 to the late Alex and Clara Kita. She graduated from Wittenberg High School and began her working career at Marathon Electric Manufacturing Corp., where she met her husband to be. She married Gordie at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway on November 22, 1957. Anne is survived by her sisters Gladys Siggelkow and Alice (Warren) Printz; brothers-in-law Frank Lorbiecki, James Windsor, David (Bonnie) Christiansen, Sisters in-law Betty Christiansen, Joan (Ronald) Dombrowski, Faye (George) Mosher, Judy (Elverne) Schickert, Marlyn Moratti, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 2017; her mother Clara, father Alex, step-mother Rosemary; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Margaret Christiansen; sisters Victoria Lorbiecki, Mary Oldham, Christine Windsor, and brother Dennis Kita. She was also preceded in death by sisters-in law Bonnie Kita, Bernadine Christiansen, Ruth Christiansen, Shirley Albrent; and brothers-in-law Charles Siggelkow, Fred Oldham, Reuben Christiansen, Ronald Christiansen, Myron Albrent, and Joseph Moratti. Although Alzheimer's disease took much of her memory, Mom will always be grateful for her life-long friendships with Faye Mosher and Sandy Wimmer. You ladies are the Best, and have enriched Mom's life in so many ways. Our family is also deeply grateful to the compassionate care given by Kathy Hoffman, and all of the amazing staff and families at Hospice House. Your care and kindness to mom and our entire family will never be forgotten. You are all truly Angels on Earth. We know that Heaven is now a more beautiful place, because Mom has arrived. Per Anne's request, no funeral service will be held.
