Candace (Candy) Laine Gorka (Horswill), age 66 of Mosinee, WI, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on 8/18/2024 at 6:18pm under the care of Medical/Surgical ICU doctors and nurses who provided the most amazing care during her 11 day battle after surgical complications. She was born March 19th, 1958 in Neillsville, WI, the daughter of the late James Horswill and Sharon (Moberg) Horswill.

Candy loved to travel with her husband. They frequently went out west to soak in the mountain views and fresh air. She looked forward to Friday nights and having a fish fry with family. Many winter nights were spent playing her favorite game, Hand and Foot, with her immediate family.

Candy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Gorka; daughters Erin (Bill) Korbisch and Lindsey (Adam) Griesmer. She was an amazing grandmother to her grandchildren; Aidan, Lanai, Ellie and Emersyn. She is further survived by her sister, Charmaine (Horswill) Prewitt, several aunts, uncles, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Horswill, Sharon (Moberg) Horswill, and Brother-In-Law Steve Prewitt, and several others gone too soon on both sides of her family.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 25th, at Rock Ridge Orchard in Edgar, WI from 11am-2pm.
