Carolyn Ann Nest, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025.

Carol was born December 4th, 1944, in Wausau WI, daughter to the late Raymond and Mae (Hotchkiss) Shimek. Carol was raised in Mosinee WI and was a 1963 graduate of Mosinee High School. On November 7th,1964 she married the love of her life, Robert Nest.

Together they raised four boys, and their active home included many trips to sporting events along with countless camping trips. Carol loved the outdoors, gardening, and animals. She enjoyed crocheting and would happily donate her finished pieces to various charities and people in need. She also had fun playing a good game of cards with family and friends.

Survivors include Carol's spouse, Robert Nest; sons, William (Holly) Nest, David (Lynn) Nest, Jeffery (Kate) Nest, and Ryan (significant other Lisa) Nest; granddaughters, Savannah (Rob) Leeb, Mae Nest, and Edrea Nest; step granddaughters, Emma Haack and Cassandra Haack; grandson Spencer (Cianna) Nest; step grandsons Jimmy Zhang and Evan Haack; step great grandson Vincent Haack; as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her three brothers Robert Shimek, Patrick Shimek, and Steven Shimek.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. and go until the time of the service at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, held at St. Matthew's Church, 229 South 28th Avenue - Wausau, Wisconsin.
