Charles "Charlie" Thomas Cunningham, Jr., age 69, of Wausau, WI, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
Charlie was born to Charles Sr. and Lorraine Cunningham in Greenfield, WI. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1970, and married his wife of 48 years, Marsha, in 1973. Charlie's lifelong interest in electronics, technology and computers culminated in a rewarding career as an Electronics and Instrumentation Apprenticeship Instructor at NorthCentral Technical College from 1988 until his retirement in 2008. While employed there, he earned his Associate's Degree, and held customized training classes for employees of northern Wisconsin paper mills and factories.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Marsha; their five children, Charles III (Mary), Cheri (Jeremy), Christi (John), Candace (Michael), and Stephen (Tarah); 11 grandchildren, Eric, Kyle, Trevor, Lily, Anna, Elliot, Chloe, Brycen, Brea, Owen and Myka; his sisters, Cherryl and Sandra; as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Stephen; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth.
An avid sports fan, Charlie always loved watching football, basketball, baseball and golf. Staying up late to play Sheepshead and Pinochle, watching old World War II movies, and listening to 1960's and 70's pop and country music were all a joy for him. Now that he has gone home to God, he can revel in all the new delights that Heaven has to offer.
The family is having a private Celebration of Life gathering to honor Charlie's memory.
