Charles J. Lawn, Sr., passed away suddenly on December 31, 2025, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
He was born on March 27, 1946, in Somerville, Massachusetts, the son of the late John F. Lawn and Eva M. Munroe.
He was affectionately known as Charlie, Chuck, and Jim. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker, and artist. Charlie loved to help others, make people laugh, and adored spending time with his grandchildren and having conversations with his children. Charlie's devotion to God was something he was immensely proud of, and he read his bible and wrote in his prayer journal every morning, no matter where he was.
Charlie worked as a truck driver for 63 years; for a number of those years, he worked for Elite Carriers in Wisconsin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Strahota.
He is survived by his sister, Eileen Rowe (Henry), and children: Charles Lawn Jr., Robert Davis (Rebecca), Jenn Courcelle (Ron), Jessica Coburn, and Eric Lawn (Fynn), 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on March 29, 2026, at the Stonebridge Apartments, 307 West Main Street, Merrill, Wisconsin, 54452, starting at 12 pm. Lunch will be served, concluding the services. There will be a private burial service for close friends and family held in August.
