Christine Joyce Cebula, 71, town of Reid, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9th, under the care of Aspirus Hospice.

Christine was born on September 7th, 1954, in Stevens Point, WI, to Myron and Bertha (Cherek) Omernik. She was united in marriage to Dennis Cebula on July 21, 1973, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent.

Christing was a very hardworking, dedicated and caring person. She worked at North Central Health Care Facilities/Mount View Care Center for 33 years, retiring in 2012. In that time, she only missed one day of scheduled work – calling in so she could be present for the birth of her grandson, Kyle.

Christine enjoyed antiquing, refinishing furniture, upholstery, and gardening. She had a great love for animals and was known to take in neighborhood strays. Domestic or feral, an animal in need seemed to find their way to Christine and a forever home.

Christine is survived by her husband, Dennis; daughter, Dana Cebula-Hix (Jeff); grandsons, Kyle (Ashley) Wincentsen, and Shane (Mikayla) Hix; and her fur babies, Miesha and Tomek. Siblings; Sr. Lennore (Marion) Omernik, Lorraine Omernik, Patricia (Gerald) Witkowski, Leo (Kathy) Omernik, Carol Hoppa, Marge Nowinsky, Myron (Karen) Omernik, and Renee (Bernard) Hoppa; brother and sisters-in-law; Clifford (Jenny) Cebula, Jackie Cebula, and Linda (Jim) Knaup; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Alex Cebula; mother-in-law, Viola Zajackowski; brother-in-law, Thomas Cebula; sister-in-law, Sharon Cebula; and, niece, Tracy Omernik.

To honor Christine's wishes, a private ceremony will be held for immediate family only.

The family would like to thank the nurses with Hospice; with a special thanks to Laurel Briggs, for your care and compassion given to Christine.
