David Jerome Beckwith, age 70, of Wittenberg, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center–Weston, with his loving family by his side.

David was born on October 23, 1955, in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Kenneth and Jeanne Beckwith. He attended Wittenberg High School and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1974. On July 16, 1983, he married the love of his life, Karen Ostrowski, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned more than 42 years.

David spent his career as a professional truck driver, working for many companies over the years. He was an owner-operator for many years and most recently worked as a Teamster linehaul driver for USF Holland. In recognition of his dedication and skill, David received a prestigious award from USF Holland for driving over one million safe miles—an achievement attained by very few.

In his free time, David enjoyed riding his Harley and his UTV. He was a faithful, patient, kind, and loving man, and there truly wasn't a mean bone in his body. Above all else, David cherished his family. He would do anything for his wife and children and was especially proud of his granddaughter, Kennen Matsche—his special girl and a bright light in his life.

David is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Brent; daughter, Calli (Matt) Matsche; granddaughter, Kennen; mother, Jeanne (Dan O'Keefe) Doering; siblings, Donna (Norbert) Zynda and Jim (Gail) Beckwith; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Beckwith; stepfather, Art Doering; and his siblings, Terry and Lisa Beckwith.

Dave put up a good fight, and the family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Onitilo and his staff at Marshfield Medical Center, as well as the compassionate care provided by Dr. Sikora, Dr. Polomis, and the ICU staff. Special thanks are also extended to Father Marion Talaga for the time he spent with Dave and the family at the end.
