David Alan Booth passed away on December 1, 2021, at his home in Mosinee, Wisconsin. After 63 years of life, David finally lays in peace. He was born on April 4, 1958 in Syracuse, New York to Alan Booth and Barbara Mackey. David Booth grew up in rural upstate New York in a family of six children. David served in the United States Navy from February 8, 1978 to February 9, 1983. With his intelligence in machine work, he worked as a machinist in the ship's functions and boiler systems, and received the Navy Expeditionary Medal from his time on USS La Salle (AGF-3). He would share proudly about his travels and experiences with family and friends. These were stories that inspired his daughters' imaginations and longings to travel. David married Julie Schultz-Booth, and together they raised three daughters in Strum, Wisconsin. Here they created a recreational area, transforming a dilapidated barn into an upstairs play area and a downstairs staging for many forms of fun. He especially loved karaoke! His handiwork infiltrated every corner of their property, in building an elaborate treehouse for his daughters to have sleepovers, a large pool deck for neighborhood friends to enjoy, and beautiful woodwork that lined the house from floor to ceiling. David's work was intricately crafted with more talent than he may have been credited for. He continued to use his gifts for handiwork throughout his life, creating handcrafted flooring, furniture, toys, decor, and beautiful inlay work. David's creativity and intentionality in design was a specialty that inspired his daughters' love for the arts. David was known to have a quiet soul and he often found peace in the outdoors and on the water. He would share his love for visiting northern Minnesota for rest and solace. David cherished deeply his relationship with Jesus, as a previous lay minister, and in his everyday time spent reading the scriptures. One of the final passages he read was Psalm 23: A psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, They comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. David is survived by his three daughters: Mia (Kaylee) Evergreen, Kjerstin Booth, and Jennifer Booth. Grandchildren: Jaxson Bentley, Beckham Evergreen, Abel Brott, and Jamison Booth. Siblings: Ric (Patti) Booth of Maryland; Pam (Fran) Butler of Maryland; Bob (Barb) Mackey of New York; Holly (Kenneth) Stanfield of Virginia; and Betsy (Bill) Kent of Virginia. David is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Mackey who passed away on September 9, 2018. David will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, in honor of his military service. A private memorial service will be held for his family this winter at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Chapel.
