David C. Johnson passed away at the House of the Dove in Marshfield on January 12th, 2022.
David was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Marie L (Weister) Johnson and Raymond D. Johnson, on September 14, 1938.
After Graduating from Columbus High School in 1956, David served in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 1956 to September 1958. He was stationed in Japan for much of his service time.
He married Carol Pokallus in 1968 and they spent 53 years together.
David attended Marquette University. He was a man of few words, but had studied many subjects: real estate, plumbing, electrical, mechanical engineering and construction. He always had the answer to a multitude of questions. He had the ability to design and build things and was always challenging himself.
He was a lifetime learner and was always reading, researching and "tinkering". One would be hard pressed to ask him a question for which he did not know the answer, and if he didn't, he would do whatever research necessary to find the answer.
David had a passion for history. He loved reading about wars and watching war movies. He also enjoyed genealogy, and he and Carol spent countless hours spanning many decades together doing genealogy research.
