It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Bruce Jones. David was born on November 28, 1952 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL to the late Robert and Genevieve (Rogers) Jones. He graduated from Eastridge High School in 1970 and from Upper Iowa University in 1996.

David was a beacon of light in the lives of his family. He often filled rooms with his contagious laughter, always had a joke up his sleeve, and was known for his great sense of humor. Described by those who knew him as funny, kind, and charismatic, he had a unique ability to connect with people on a deep level. He was bright and quick witted, with a fondness for reading and engaging in meaningful conversations. He had a knowledge of many topics from history to music to literature, and could easily win any game of trivia.

David had a knack for business, an affinity for music, and throughout his life, he was an avid hiker, runner, and swimmer. David was a car and motorbike enthusiast, loved to cook, and was an animal lover who took great care of his beloved pets. He enjoyed thrifting, and always picked up unique items for loved ones. David worked many years as an asphalt testing technician, winning awards for his work in Wisconsin.

In his journey through life, David was blessed with a loving family. He married Irene Quednow on August 13, 1988. He was a proud and loving father to his children, Emily and Dylan (Becky) Jones. And 3 years ago he welcomed his grandson, Jaxon Jones into the world. He leaves behind his brother, Bob Jones, sister, Susan Jones, and beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Nancy Olmstead.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
