Dolores J. Hilmershausen, 96, of Tomahawk passed away surrounded by her loving family at Riverview Health Services in Tomahawk on October 15, 2024.
Dolores lived independently until the age of 94. She enjoyed spending time at her cottage up-north on Manson Lake. She loved trips to the casino and going to The Grand Theater in Wausau with her friend Delores Lemke. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchild. After her transition to Riverview Health Services, she looked forward to her weekly meal outings with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. She will remain a strong constant in our lives and live on through all of our precious memories.
Dolores was born to the late John and Emma (Beilke) Waldinger on May 26, 1928. She married the love of her life Merlin Hilmershausen on November 19, 1947 in the city of Wausau. They had one daughter, Janet (Richard) Hornick, Tomahawk, three sons, John (Bonnie) Hilmershausen, Edgar, Jim (Cindy) Hilmershausen, Wausau, Jeff (Cindy) Hilmershausen, Tomahawk. Grandchildren; Traci (Don) Johnson, Tomahawk, Todd (Jillian) Hornick, Custer, Tiffany (Lonny) Calhoun, Tomahawk, Derek (Kate) Hilmershausen, Wausau, Kyle (Annie) Hilmershausen, Victoria, MN. Seven great grandchildren; Tyler Saindon, Wausau, Nicholas Saindon, Wausau, Jordan Parker-Calhoun, Robstown, TX, Sydney Calhoun, Tomahawk, Charley Hornick, Custer, Karsen Hornick, Green Bay, Merly Hilmerhausen, Wausau, and one great great grandchild Oryn Saindon, Wausau.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merlin Hilmershausen, brothers; Ray, Eugene, Howard, Russell, and Burnell Waldinger, one sister Mildred Sippl and two grandsons Kurt Habeck and Jerry Hornick.
A private family burial will be held at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Scheele.
