Ellen Grace Liebe Basterash Curtis, 76, passes away peacefully at home on December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family George, Amber, Bryan and Emily.

Ellen was born on June 1, 1949, in Milwaukee, WI, daughter to the late Clarence and Jeanne (Wuerzberger) Liebe. Ellen was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew her. She touched the lives of countless people with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Her legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.

Ellen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband George T Curtis of Phillips, her children Dale (Skip) Basterash of Aurora, CO., Duane Basterash of Waukesha, WI., Bryan Curtis of Phillips, WI., Emily Curtis of Rib Lake, WI., Amber Curtis of Phillips, WI. Her 14 grandchildren, her 18 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, countless extended family and friends.

Throughout her life, Ellen was known for her passions and talents. She loved her houseplants and outdoor plants. Her love for the wildlife that surrounded her. Her love for baking brought warmth and joy to our family gatherings.

Her legacy will live on through the memories we shared, the values she instilled in us, and the love she gave. We take solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, her late husband Dale Basterash Sr. and her 5 brothers.

Rest in peace Ellen (Mom, Sis, Sissy & Aunt Sis). You will forever be our guiding light.
