Felix J. Walkowski, age 62, of rural Hatley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his home. Felix was known by many for his stories, his love for fishing and all things outdoors, and the Green Bay Packers. He was a wonderful and generous person who was loved by many.
Felix was always ready to share a laugh. He was quick witted and had an abundance of stories and jokes. He would have given the shirt off his back to anyone and was always quick to help anyone who needed help. He kept his family and friends amused and surprised by the things he knew and stories he told. He was never shy and quickly made friends with whoever he met.
Felix's greatest love was for his family, especially his sons Justin and Skyler, who he was very proud of and often talked about. He loved his daughter in law, Traci, and was looking forward to becoming a grandfather one day. Felix and Justin loved to hunt and fish together. Felix was also involved with and enjoyed participating in Justin's boy scouts, when Justin was growing up. Felix loved attending Skyler's musicals and sports, when Skyler was in school. More recently, he looked forward to the time he spent with Skyler, running errands around town and talking.
Felix was born November 13, 1959 in Wausau, WI, to the late Kasmer and Rose (nee Zyduck) Walkowski. Felix is survived by his former wife, Robin Walkowski of Hatley; sons Justin (Traci) Walkowski of Cambridge, MN, and Skyler Walkowski of Hatley; brothers Lawrence (Renee) Walkowski of Milton, FL, Peter (Joan Schotanus) of Rhinelander, Kasmer Jr. (Soukan Souvannarth) of Hatley, and Ervin (Rose Lynd) of Tomahawk; sister Nancy (Rich) Lavin of Batavia, IL; uncle Richard (Martha) Zyduck of Hatley; aunt Doris Zyduck, of Schofield; his partner, Amy Stenberg of Weston and her daughter Savannah Stenberg of Mosinee. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Kasmer and Rose and many aunts and uncles.
There will be a celebration of life planned for later in 2022.
I've finished life's chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I've been invited to the fishin' hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don't worry, or feel sad for me,
I'm fishin' with the Master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won't be long you will see,
Till we're together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I'm missin'
Just tell 'em I've gone fishin'
