George (Gino) R. Walter, age 82 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at home under the care of Heartland Hospice while surrounded by his family.  He was born on July 11, 1942, the son of the late Zeke and Zatha Walter.  George married Anita (Brezinski) in 1963.  George had a career at Consolidated Papers for 41 years before retiring.  During retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit his daughter and grandchildren.  He was an avid fisherman and bird watcher.  George enjoyed being outdoors and taking long walks with his dog.  He liked tinkering with wood, collecting nails, screws, nuts and bolts.  He always gave a helping hand to friends and family with his jack-of-all-trade talents.

George is survived by his wife Anita, daughters Melissa (Jack) Rzentkowski, Pamela Walter, and Stephanie Dombrow, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.  His siblings, Nancy Peterson, Linda Eckendorf, Marion (Salty) Walter, and Elon (Eddie) Walter.

He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Walter and his sister Susie Keller.

An open-house celebration of life will be held November 23 at Central Waters Brewing Company in Amherst, WI from 12PM-3PM.

Thanks to George, there was never a dull knife in the house.
