Salmi
Jul 7, 1940 — May 9, 2026
Gordon Paul Salmi, age 85, passed away on May 9th, 2026. He was born on July 7th, 1940, to the late Reino Salmi and Josephine Johnson in Dollar Bay, Michigan. He grew up in Dollar Bay where he worked on the family farm.
In his younger years, Gordon proudly served in the military. He later built a legacy through his work in construction, helping build bridges across the United States. Gordon took immense pride in his work and the many places his career allowed him to see.

Gordon was known for his gift of storytelling and his warm conversations with everyone he met. He often shared what he believed were the three keys to life: "Eat right, exercise, and be happy." He also had a special love for his dogs, whom he spoiled dearly and treated like family.
He was preceded in death by; his parents Reino Salmi and Josephine Johnson, wife Janet Salmi, daughter Cheryl Salmi, and son Paul Salmi.
Gordon is survived by his children, Brenda Harper, Richard Salmi, Beverly Raisanen, Kris Lepisto, and Travis Salmi; his niece, Melody Holmes; his grandchildren, extended family, and many friends who will miss his wisdom, humor, and loving heart.
