With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Minnie Isakson, 93, of Wausau, on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

Born on April 17, 1931, to Frank and Martella (Jaeger) Henke in Wausau, Wisconsin, Helen lived a rich and fulfilling life. Known for her infectious laughter and unwavering positivity, she inspired those around her. Her family was her greatest joy, and she found immense pride in each of their accomplishments. She is survived by her children: Caren (Ted) Kowalski of Plover, Bruce (Ann) Isakson of Wausau, Gary Isakson of Wausau, Sandra Korlaske of Wausau, and Mark (Kim) Isakson of Kronenwetter. Helen was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Troy (Sara) Kowalski of Green Bay, Cristin (Casey) Hopp of Verona, Chad (Lisa) Kowalski of Marshfield, Erik (Kelsey) Isakson of Weston, Brandt Isakson of Wausau, Matthew (Rachel) Isakson of Stevens Point, Lori (Adam) Stankowski of Wausau, Adam Korlaske of Wausau, Kyle Isakson and Jessica Isakson of Kronenwetter. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Arlene) Henke of Merrill, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin J. Isakson, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years, as well as her daughter-in-law, Sharon Isakson.

Helen retired from Wausau Insurance as a Maintenance Supervisor. She had a passion for gardening, reading, and shopping, and was an avid football fan, especially of the Green Bay Packers. Most importantly, Helen cherished the time spent with her beloved family. Her joyful spirit and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family will honor Helen's wishes with a private celebration, cherishing the love and memories that will forever connect them to her spirit.
