Janet R. Salmi, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026. She was born on October 23, 1946, to the late Edward and Dorothy (Schneider) Bokelberg.
Janet lived a vibrant and joyful life, full of energy, love, and devotion to her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping and fishing with her father, experiences she cherished deeply. She was also a member of a professional water ski team and participated in figure roller skating, reflecting her adventurous and active spirit.
Janet had a true zest for life. She loved to gamble, sing, and dance, and was always ready for a good time. She had a well-known sweet tooth and rarely passed up her favorite candies. She took great pride in her appearance, never leaving the house without her hair and makeup done, and she kept a pristine home that reflected her care and attention.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her two beloved dogs. Janet also enjoyed traveling to warm destinations, with some of her favorite trips being to Las Vegas, Mississippi, and Florida, where she made many cherished memories with her husband.
Above all else, Janet's greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her kindness, caring nature, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Bokelberg, and her brother, Alan.
Janet lived her life grounded in faith. She prayed daily, never missed a day of thanksgiving, and carried her beliefs with quiet strength and devotion throughout her life.
A celebration of Janet's life will be held at a later date.
