Jay (Bird) Wayne Graap, age 56, of Merrill, WI was born on September 14,1964. Jay passed away unexpectedly on 8/5/2021.
Jay resided his whole life in Merrill. He attended Merrill High School and worked as a logger for Graap Logging for several years. Lastly he was a Lead Blaster @ Merrill Iron and Steel.
Jay had a love for motorcycles, especially Harley's. He didn't just ride as a hobby, it was his passion. He loved to ride with family, friends who are like family, and making memories. He also enjoyed 4-Wheeling. He was never afraid to get dirty! He took great pride in everything he did but especially helping with an Annual ATV Memorial Ride for his late friend Rob Johnson.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Loafer Graap and Clarice Jean Graap. He is survived by his Sister Sandy (Dave) Sherfinski, Brother Tod Graap, and Brother Kim Graap, all of Merrill along with several Nieces, Nephews Great Nieces and Nephews, and Cousins. Also survived by his special girls Michelle (James) Brown, Mindy Meehean, and Lindsey Johnson.
Most people will remember Jay for his laugh and genuine love for life. Anyone who knew Jay knew he lived his own life on his terms right up to the end.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday August 21, 2021. It will be at the Lincoln County Gun Club, N1544 Corning Rd, Merrill, WI 54452. (Not the Lincoln County Sports Club). This is West on Hwy 64 just passed Hwy E on Corning Rd. The event starts at 1 PM with a luncheon and goes until whenever. A Funeral Procession and Motorcycle Ride will also be taking place starting at Newood Tap in Merrill (meeting at 12:15pm) and riding to Lincoln County Gun Club. There will be a final farewell prayer and any words that family or friends would like to say at 3 PM but feel free to stay around after to share your special memories of Jay.
