Jay John Westberg age 68, died peacefully at home with his family and friends on January 26, 2022. Jay was born November 4, 1953 in Wausau to John and Betty Westberg. He grew up in Wausau and was a Wausau West graduate. He joined the Army May 1975 working in Artillery. Jay worked at UWMC in maintenance. Also was a cook for the Elks Club and Salvation Army. Jay loved to cook for family and friends. Was and avid cribbage player. Kept busy hunting, fishing and gardening always with his dog by his side. Jay is survived by 3 sons, Jason (Leslie) Westberg, Arizona, Jeremy (Melanie) Westberg Ringle WI, Joseph (Nicole) Westberg Marathon WI, 3 Sisters, Bonnie (Ken) Hall DeForest. WI, Kari Cline Wausau. WI, Jamie Mendrzycki Wausau. WI one brother, Jonathan Westberg. Pewaukee. WI and 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Abigail, Gavin, Alison and Melanie Preceding him in death was his parents, One brother Kris and one brother in law, Michael Mendrzycki. A celebration of life will be held at Riverside Park-100 Sherman St in Wausau, February 26th from 1-4,Military ceremony at 2 pm.
