JoAnn Mills, 83, of Tigerton, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born August 25, 1940, in Wausau to Harold and Eleanor (Hartwig) West. JoAnn graduated from Wittenberg High School.
In September of 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Malueg in Wittenberg. They had three children: Sandra (Malueg) McPike, Randall Malueg, and Mark Malueg.
In July of 1979, she was united in marriage to Bill Mills in Tigerton.
JoAnn worked as a nursing assistant for many years and later, as a casino employee. Outside of work she was an avid bowler. JoAnn was an extremely talented seamstress and phenomenal cook. Her family is going to miss her sense of humor and willingness to help in any situation.
She is further survived by her six grandchildren: Kelly, Jared, and Hayley McPike, Ashley (Trevor) Caudill, Bailey Malueg, and Brett Malueg, two brothers, Roger (Andrea) West and Ray (Pat) West, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, brother LeRoy (Kathy) West, brother Richard (Pat) West, granddaughter Terra McPike, former husband Donald Malueg, husband Bill Mills, and special friend Otto Rettkowski.
The family would like to especially thank Darryl Vollmer, Lori Seliger, and the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for all their care, compassion and support.
Per the family's wishes a private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in JoAnn's name.
