On January 28th, 2025, John (Butch) Manowski passed away on the Palliative Care unit, at Aspirus Hospital of Wausau WI.

He was 75, born July 14th, 1949, to the late John and Joyce Manowski, of Wausau. He was raised Catholic.

John was a disabled Vietnam Veteran and served in the US Navy. He enjoyed the Northwoods and moved to Rhinelander several years ago, where he has lived for many years. He worked as a carpenter after service and later as a butcher. Last working at Save More Foods in Minocqua before retiring.

When his health was good, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, snowmobiling and riding his UTV. He recently bought a motorcycle and converted it into a trike. He was able to ride a few times last summer. The smile on his face was priceless.

He was a friend to anyone he met. He was also quite a prankster. If you were in the same room as John, you definitely would be laughing. He had a big heart and would help out anyone if they needed it. He will be sadly missed by many.

John was a brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to many. He had many chocolate labs in his life, his last one, JoJo will miss him.

No funeral will be held. We will be having a celebration of life at his home early this summer.
