Our Heavenly Father welcomed a son into his Kingdom on Monday December 13, 2021. Not just a son, but a brother, a grandson, a cousin, a nephew and a friend. A smile. An unquestionably authentic smile. And a bit of a lost soul. But a beautiful soul. Jonathan Jeffrey Raduechel, or "Boo" as his mother called him, could bring light into any room. Early on he loved playing hide-and-seek and pokemon (back when it used to be cool). As he grew older, Jonny would always be game for a walk, a skateboarding session, riding a bike, four-wheeling, camping or tossing a lure into the lake...and all the while smiling or trying to make someone smile or laugh. (Ohhh, that little goofball.) Winter would come around and you'd find him ice skating or sledding with his stocking cap on a bit crooked and a scuff on an elbow or his cheek because he gave 'er a bit more than it needed givin'. At the top of his game, he was bright, kind, polite, unassuming and thankful. Above all, he was loving and he had a good heart. A hole now remains where Jonny once stood. Twenty-six years of age was just too early for him to pass. Sadly, addiction caught up with him over the past few years. Heroine and other drugs, having imparted bad decisions and muffled thinking, had given cause to some of his darkest days. A message he has sent to us...a want for awareness, and hope, that others may not succumb to the same, that we may be able to stand up and provide help to others who may be heading down a similar path. Jonny is survived by his father, Jon E. Raduechel; his Mother, Janina (Jeana) Wendt and sister (and friend), Julia, who loved him dearly, even as they navigated the recent dark times with Jonny. He is also survived by his great-grandmother, Kathleen (Kay) Alfers; grandparents, Jeffrey and Jacqueline Wendt, and Earl and Carol Raduechel; uncles Josh (and Besty) Wendt and Jason (and Katrina) Wendt; aunts Jessica (Wendt and Josh) Pearson, and Joanna (Wendt and Dave) Bielke, Gina (Raduechel) Gleason and Tracy (Raduechel and Shaun) Roach; his good friend Tim Schneck, as well as many cousins and, who could forget, his dog Jersey, who he loved dearly. Jonathan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, bringing them closer and closer during this trying time. While no-one has been able to make complete sense of what has taken place, there are lessons to be learned. And that light that Jonny once brought into the room, that light will shine on in the hearts of all of those whose lives he has touched. A memorial and Celebration of Life will be held on December 30, 2021 at Highland Church, 1005 N 28th Ave, Wausau, WI 54401; 10 a.m. (visitation), 11 a.m. (service) and lunch will be served at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to 'Jonny's Memorial Fund' which will be used towards addiction awareness and providing greater hope to those who may find themselves going down a similar path.
