Joe Hoffman passed away on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 72 years old.

Born on March 6th, 1953, in Merrill WI to Harry Hoffman and Ruth (Newholm) Hoffman. He married Carolynn Biggs on October 4th, 1974, she survives. They just celebrated 50 happy years of marriage.

Joe was a mechanic his entire life. He owned Grand Avenue Service for about 10 years. He did a lot of car repairs, with the help of his wife and children, his dad, and a very special friend Bumpy (William) Plautz, who became part of the family. Joe was very proud of all his accomplishments. Besides being a mechanic, he also was a supervisor at Wire Products for quite some time. He also transported cars for Stark GM. He did custodial work at the library and enrichment center. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows and did building maintenance. He helped his dad build many houses including the ones his son and daughter now live in.

Joe loved the outdoors; he had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved camping and staying at the hunting cabin in Newood that he also built. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. He shot in a pool league for over 50 years.

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years Carolynn, his son Jeromy (Bobbie Jo) and his daughter Jennifer (Trevor Mattmiller). Three grandchildren: Alexandria Hoffman, Hunter Hoffman, and Brody Mattmiller. Two great grandchildren: Kinsley and Bentley and one great grand baby on the way. Further survived are his sisters in law Karen Hoffman, Jeanne Wangen, Sharon Prentice, and brothers in law Richard Biggs and Rick Prentice. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Ruth Hoffman, mother and father-in-law Esther and Clifford Biggs, brother Patrick Hoffman, sisters-in-law Lea Ann Biggs, Mary Biggs and brother-in-law Oscar Wangen.

A celebration of life will be held and the Corning Town Hall on Friday October 10th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special Thanks to the whole team at Marshfield Hospital. Their hospitality and words of encouragement were very precious.
