Joseph "Joe" Fabian Gorshe, 41, Wausau, passed away on Friday, April 4th, 2025.

He was born June 21, 1983, in Wausau, WI, son to Werner and the late Julie (Corazalla) Gorshe.

Joe graduated from Wausau East High School in 2001 and continued his education at UW-Eau Claire, earning a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. After graduation, he worked as a strength and conditioning coach for several collegiate and professional teams including Bemidji State University, the Colorado Rockies and the Milwaukee Brewers baseball organizations. Joe had the opportunity to work as a Human Performance Optimization coach with members of an Army Special Ops unit. In the last few years, Joe operated S.W.A.T. Pest Control, his own local extermination business during summer, while moonlighting as a role player for his former military unit members during off months.

Joe loved all things sports, traveling and spending time outdoors. While camping and fishing were activities that brought him joy, hiking was his passion. One of his greatest accomplishments in life was hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. He also had a goal of climbing the highest point in each state, successfully completing 42 of the 50.

Many proclaim him friend or brother, along with godfather and "Uncle" to his cousin Kelsey (Chad) Baumgardt's children, Parker and Peyton. His infectious laugh, good natured humor and adventurous spirit left an impression on any who met him. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.

He is survived by his father, Werner, beloved dog Mary Jay, Aunt Patty (Gary) Duffrin, Uncle Steve (Sharon) Gorshe, Uncle Gino (Kristy) Corazalla, Aunt Cindy Corazalla, and many cousins.

Preceded in death by his mother, brother, Thomas and sister, Angie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 25th, 2025, at Our Saviors Church, 804 Jackson St., Mosinee. Visitation will begin at 9 AM until funeral service at 10 AM. Lunch will be provided after.
