Joyce Jean (Schroeder) Langner, 86, of Medford, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Aspirus Medford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Merrill, WI, on August 24, 1939, the daughter of Charles and Rosella Gryskiewicz.

She married Frank Schroeder Sr. October 18th, 1958. They made their home in Butternut, WI, on the Schroeder family farm until an untimely wood's accident took her husband's life on March 25, 1974.

She later moved her children to Park Falls, where she found love again and married a wonderful man, Ben Langner, who raised her children as his own. They shared 36 blessed years together before his passing in 2020.

She raised 6 children, worked as a nurse's aide, was a farm wife, and volunteered at the Medford nursing home reading the bible to residents. She loved family gatherings, cookouts, and dancing to polka music. Her faith was strong. She loved her church and to share Gods word.

She was preceded in death by her husband's Frank Schroeder Sr (1974), Ben C. Langner (2020), her parents, Charles and Rosella Gryskiewicz; her son, Ricky Charles; and two sisters, Pat Frank and JoAnn Richardson.

She is survived by her son, John (Kathy) Schroeder of Butternut, WI; her son, Frank Schroeder Jr. of Mercer, WI; her daughter, Lori (Joel) Brost of Medford, WI; her daughter, Barbara (Richard) Rienow of Park Falls, WI; her son, Mike Schroeder of Butternut, WI; and her son, Joseph Schroeder of Park Falls, WI. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly with all her heart. 2 sister in-laws, Pauline (Bill) Fenzl and Dorthy (John) Luhtala of Park Falls, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 751 Grace Way 1st Baptist church in Medford, WI 54451. Family gathering will start at 9:00a.m. The church service will be at 10:00a.m. with lunch to follow.
