Judith (Judy) Masanz, aged 85, passed away on August 12, 2025, in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Born on April 14, 1940, to the late Burton and Luella Weik, Judy spent her entire life in Wausau, where she graduated from Wausau High School in 1958.
Throughout her life, she worked as a baker and chef for the Wausau school district while raising her children, later transitioning to a role as an accounts payable processor in a local business. A passionate sports enthusiast, Judy was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Brewers, and all Badgers sports, often found at the ice rink cheering for her son and grandson during hockey games. She also enjoyed hosting international kayak racers and had a variety of hobbies, including reading, knitting, sewing, baking, camping, and tending to her flower gardens. Family was central to Judy's life; she cherished gatherings for holidays and meals, deriving immense joy from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Marlyn Masanz, daughters Patti Linkon and Debbie (Steve) Spiegel, son Jeff (Tina) Nickel, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three stepsons, five step-grandchildren, and two great step-grandsons, along with her brother Richard (Linda) Weik, brother in law Darrel Nelson and sister-in-law Jane Weik. Six grandchildren: Matthew (Sarah) Timken, Stephanie Timken (Joe Bell), Holly (Kyle) Holzem, Jessica Nickel (Corey Huckbody), Josh (Amber) Spiegel, Brittany (Erich) Burnett, four Stepchildren; Denny Masanz, Sue (Kevin) Strebig, Kevin (Gina) Masanz, Keith (Amy) Masanz, three step grandchildren: Derek (Audrey) Masanz, Connor Masanz, Jenna (Joseph) Wieting.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sandra Nelson and Jane Weik. A celebration of her life will take place at Arrow Sports Club in Weston, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 11th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
