Laura Jean Beltz, 42, of Wausau, WI, passed away unexpectedly in her home on June 14th at around 5:30 a.m.

Laura was born on August 29th, 1982, in Wausau, WI, to Cynthia Dickey and Peter Beltz. She grew up in Wausau and, while still in high school, became pregnant with her first child. Despite the challenge, she proudly earned her diploma. Laura then became a devoted stay-at-home mother, later welcoming two more children into her life.

Much of Laura's life was dedicated to caring for her children, two of whom have special needs. After the birth of her youngest, she chose to embrace single motherhood so she could give her full attention and energy to her family.

Laura was very political, as she cared deeply about humanity and believed in giving a voice to the unheard. Some of the things she was most passionate about were equality, expanding her knowledge, and peaceful protest. Laura dedicated herself to always doing what was just and honorable. Above all, her love and devotion to her family was her greatest passion.

Outside of her advocacy and family life, Laura found joy in simple pleasures. She loved reading, writing, listening to music, going for walks, and kayaking. These hobbies gave her peace and balance, reflecting the resilient spirit she carried throughout her life.

Even in times of hardship, Laura remained incredibly strong-willed. She never hesitated when it came to caring for others. Those who knew her will never forget her wisdom, her astute perspective, and her heart of gold.

Laura is survived by her brother, Lawrence Beltz; her sister, Elizabeth Beltz, her three children, Peter Beltz-Lavake, Robert Beltz-Lavake, Theresa Beltz-Lavake, and her granddaughter Marley Beltz.

Laura had a brilliant mind but always cared more about others than herself. With her kind and open heart, she never judged anyone and believed deeply in equality for all. Her compassion and fairness touched everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Her presence in our lives will be profoundly missed.

There is a memorial service scheduled for August 30th, 2pm at First Universalist Unitarian Church in Wausau, WI.
