Leone Jean Peterson, 77, of Schofield, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away under Hospice Care on Friday, September 6th, 2024.

Leone was born at Memorial Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin, on August 13,1947 to Theodore and Eleanor Fierek. She grew up in Hatley, Wisconsin. Throughout her life, Leone worked at Conners, Kolbe and Kolbe, Wausau Insurance and Eastbay. Leone married Eugene "Pete" Peterson on April 25, 1970, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI.

Leone is survived by her two sons, Scott (Ann) Peterson and Todd (Angela) Peterson and her sister Joann Bloomer. Leone has six grandchildren: Payton, Emmitt, Lilly, Dustin, Travis, and Bradley and one great granddaughter, Ezria Peterson.

Leone is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Peterson, her parents Theodore and Eleanor Fierek, and her siblings, Deloris (Burgoyne), Kenneth, Theodore JR (Teddy), Elaine (Gleason), and Gary.

Leone enjoyed camping "up north," with friends, attending the annual Wisconsin Valley Fair and going to local church picnics. She enjoyed games including Bingo, 500 Rummy (with Pete) and Yahtzee. She liked watching Channel 80 - "The Game Show Network". Leone loved listening to country music, but her favorite singer was Elvis Presley. She enjoyed watching the Packers and her all-time favorite player was Brett Favre.

The funeral service will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1351 Grand Ave, Schofield, WI 54476, on Friday, September 13th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and the funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm.
