Lila Louise
Revie
Nov 29, 1936 — Jan 6, 2026
Lila Louise Revie (Drews) of Phillips passed away surrounded by family on January 6, 2026, at age 89 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Lila was born November 29, 1936, in Colby, WI to Walter and Louise Drews and grew up in that area helping on the family farm after some early years of rail travel adventure as the family followed father Walter in his work.
After graduating from Colby high school in 1954 Lila chose to pursue a career in nursing and received her RN degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1957. Lila's adventurous spirit led her to drive cross-country with a group of girlfriends to explore the country and eventually land in Colorado for a few years. She also chose to continue her education by graduating from Luther College, Decorah, IA in 1962 with a sociology degree.
Once Lila decided to settle down, she married Jack Revie in 1964. Lila and Jack first made their home in the Wausau-Merrill area with Lila working in many areas of nursing, while also expanding their family with the addition of two children.
Lila knew that Jack had always dreamed of being a dairy farmer, so when the time was right, the family bought a farm in Kennan, WI where Lila was not only a full-time farming wife and dedicated mother, she also worked as a county nurse and eventually a home care nurse for Price County. Lila loved caring for her patients, and indeed she cared so deeply she often took on the care of her patients' pets when needed.
When it came time for Lila to retire from farming and nursing, she especially enjoyed gardening (her precision with weeding was unparalleled), spending time with her grandsons, and getting back to driving travel, this time with Jack.
Lila is survived by her children Russell (Tammie) Revie of Phillips, and Susan (Helen) Revie of Seattle, WA, as well as her beloved grandsons Jacob and Justin Revie. She is predeceased by her husband Jack, her parents Walter and Louise Drews and her siblings; brothers Edwin (Nona) Drews and Ted Drews, and sister Dorothy (Wally) Sprotte.
The family will dearly miss Lila's loving personality and wonderful sense of humor that always brought a sense of comfort and a smile to everyone.
Interment will be at the Dorchester cemetery, and a celebration of life will be planned for the spring/summer.
