Erickson
Nov 3, 1963 — Aug 6, 2024
Linda Jean Erickson, age 60, was born to Wesley and Bertha Smithson on November 3rd, 1963, in Milwaukee, WI. She passed away on August 6th, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Linda grew up in Newberry MI, received her GED through the Consolidated Community Schools, and was a member of the Newberry VFW. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a friend known for her vibrant personality and zest for life.
She married Gordon Erickson on March 15th, 2008, and they built a life together in Schofield WI. Linda treasured her family above all else and was immensely proud of her four children, Donna, Michelle, Michael, and Kyle, as well as her three stepchildren: Bradly, Sierra, and Lindsy. Linda was further enriched by many grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who were all a source of immense joy in her life.
Linda took pride in her cooking and spent many years sharing her skills by working for local restaurants until she opened her own restaurant. She had a talent for decorating her home and took great pleasure in creating a welcoming space. She was a devoted football fan, who proudly cheered for the Green Bay Packers and found joy in listening to a variety of music, particularly country.
In her free time, Linda enjoyed cooking, singing, and watching Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, which brought her comfort and happiness. Her fun-loving goofy nature made her a joy to be around, and she was always eager to share a laugh or create cherished memories with friends and family
Linda is survived by her loving husband Gordy Erickson, her children Donna (Rob) Skeans, Michelle Blakely, Michael Blakely, and Kyle (Michelle Clark) Blakely, her stepchildren, Bradly, Sierra, and Lindsy Erickson. Her 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is further survived by her siblings, Fred Bryant, Barbara Palmer, and Jerry Smithson.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Smithson, Mother Bertha Smithson; her siblings, Wesley Smithson, Patricia Burke, Michael Smithson, and William Smithson; her nephews Michael Smithson, Jamie Paquin, and Niece Sandra Paquin.
Linda was cherished by her friends and family; she will always hold a special place in their hearts that will never fade. The joy she brought to those around her will be remembered with love and fondness. Her absence leaves a profound void, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The memories shared with Linda will forever remain a treasured part of our lives.
