Mafalda (Muffy) Yolanda (Costabile) Schackmuth, formerly from Kenosha, Wisconsin, and most recently from Wausau,

Wisconsin was born on February 14, 1931, and passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Muffy was the daughter of Gaetano and Aquila (DeBartolo) Costabile. She married the love of her life, Glenn Schackmuth, on December 18, 1954.

Muffy was a loving wife, mother, nana, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, planting flowers, playing games, cooking/baking, painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and telling stories about her heritage. Muffy was able to speak and read in Italian.

Surviving are Muffy's daughter, Mary (Alan) Nickel of Wausau, WI; a son, Glenn (Jenny) Schackmuth of Oswego, IL; four grandchildren, Andrew Nickel, Jarret (Autumn) Nickel, Alex Schackmuth, and Trisha Schackmuth; and a great granddaughter, Leena Nickel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Schackmuth (October 29, 2023); three sisters, Rose (Sam) Infusino (March 1, 2002), Theresa Jacobsen (October 15, 2004), and Therese Costabile (in infancy); and a brother, Gerino (Sally) Costabile (September 30, 2003).

A celebration of life will be held for Muffy in the Spring.
