On July 10, 2025, Marlowe Paul Mayer passed peacefully at Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital.

He was born on May 25, 1960, to Doria and John Mayer.

Marlowe learned to work at a young age at his dad's full-service gas station in Mosinee. He tried plumbing after graduation and then went to Illinois where he became a meat cutter. He returned to WI to be with his family and worked at Mullins Cheese for many years as a Cheesemaker. He then worked as a "garbo man" as his kids would say! He knew where every dumpster was located and loved to point them out. In the tail end of his career, he transferred from a diesel mechanic to a roll-off driver. He always kept a screwdriver and wrench close by to keep his truck going! He retired in January of 2024 so he could spend even more time with his kitties! TT and Boots were his pride and joy, and he loved to spoil them.

Marlowe loved nature from the time he was a little boy biking and going fishing. Later he camped with his 3 children, and they knew when Dad did his piercing whistle, they had better get back to the campsite! He loved the water and could swim fearlessly and skillfully and enjoyed water skiing, he could even slalom. He enjoyed many trips to Florida with his children and his mesmerizing trip to the Grand Canyon. He adored his Aunt Sibby and took her on one of her last trips to Branson, MO, which they both treasured. Marlowe had a lot of luck when buying rip tickets or going to the casino occasionally with his family. Harley rides were something he had great pleasure in being able to do. He also loved playing golf with his son Ryan and his grandchildren. Marlowe's story telling was like no other causing a person to want to hear more! He also had strong faith and in the end, he held on to that knowing he was going to be with the lord!

Survivors include his daughter Ashley (Greg) Katzke and his son Caleb Mayer. His siblings, Mark (Kathy) Mayer, Mari (Randy) Peterson, and Martin (Shirley) Mayer. His beloved grandchildren, Tanner, Kinslee, Everly, Kayden, Declan and Priscilla. His nieces, Livia Callow and Lea Peterson and his nephew, Josh Mayer. Also, his dear friends, Lenora Dalske and Charlie Hall.

Marlowe was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Doria Mayer and his son, Ryan Mayer.

We would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for their care and support. Your time with Marlowe wasn't long, but you made a huge impact.

A funeral service will take place at Our Saviors National Church, 804 Jackson St. Mosinee WI 54455 on August 1st, 2025, at 11:00am.
