Obituary

Patrick Peckham, an active member of the Wausau community, died Wednesday, March 13 of

complications from chemotherapy. He was 75. Pat was born in Cripple Creek, Colorado, the

son of the late Ilo (Lindy) and Venor (Doc) Peckham of Mazomanie, WI. After earning a degree

in Political Science and Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, he spent the

next 45 years working in print journalism.

Pat was locally active in Good News, the Wisconsin Valley Woodturners, the Wausau Wheelers

and served 6 years as Alder for the Southeast Side Neighborhood. He was a kind man who

enjoyed paddling and fishing, fixing things, turning wooden pens, and tending to his trail

cameras.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Peckham, a sister Margaret of Arena, Wisconsin,

a brother Perry (Barbara) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, a daughter Elizabeth of Madison and a son Matthew

of Milwaukee.

Arrangements are being made by Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society. There will be no service,

but a celebration of his life will be held in early summer.
