Robert Wayne Schultz, 85 of Kronenwetter, WI passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston.

He was born to the late Leonard and Regina Schultz on February 26, 1940, in Wausau, WI.

He was a graduate of North Central Technical Institute with an associate's degree. He farmed for a period of time in Rib Falls, then he went to work for Wausau Concrete. From there, he started driving semi over the road for Schneider Transport and retired after 30 years. Then drove over the road for Crete for a short time before retiring at age 65.

He married his wife, Carol, in 1975, and later they moved to Minnesota to be closer to Carol's children. After moving to Minnesota, he also drove a school bus for the District 196 in Minnesota. After full retirement, Robert and Carol moved back to Wisconsin, where he drove school bus for the Mosinee School District.

He is survived by his wife Carol, Kelly Esteney of the UK, Robert Schultz, Wausau, Shawn (Karliene) Schultz, Stoughton, Tina (Lyle) Boelter, Schofield, daughter-in-law Tina Schultz, Wausau, 3 grandchildren Emily, Jessica and Robbie, 2 great grandchildren Taylor, and Skylar. He is further survived by 2 step children, Laura (Theren Chaffee) Gernetzky, Tina (Scott) Ciriacks, 5 step grandchildren, Alex (Trista) Gernetzky, Benjamin Gernetzky, Caitlayn Gernetzky, Andrew Ciriacks, Carolynn (Adam) Thennes, 2 step great grandchildren, Lily Gernetzky and Leo Thennes.

He was preceded in death by his son Henry Schultz, son-in-law Anthony "Tony" Esteney, great-grandchild Gunner Lee, and the mother of his 5 children Bonnie.

Robert had many hobbies. He liked to read, put puzzles together, playing games on his iPad, playing cards with his Thursday card group and especially enjoyed watching old TV shows.

Robert loved to meet new people, strike up a conversation, and tell stories about his over-the-road trucking. He was a walking road map to all he would meet and would give people directions and tell them which roads to take and which to stay away from.

Robert had a great big heart and a joyful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor, and an unforgettable laugh. He will be missed beyond words.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
