Roman
Michalski
Feb 19, 1943 — Apr 26, 2026
Roman Michalski, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on April 26, 2026, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Born in Milwaukee on February 19, 1943, to the late Alois and Stella (Pirog) Michalski, Roman lived a life grounded in love, resilience, and appreciation for the simple joys. He was a devoted father to Russell, Jeffrey, and Daniel, and a proud grandfather to Jon, Megan, Jacob, Christopher, and Justin.
Roman found great happiness in fishing, watching ballroom dancing, and playing cards—especially sheepshead and cribbage. During his sons' younger years, he rarely missed an opportunity to attend their Lake band events, offering enthusiastic support and encouragement from the sidelines. He truly enjoyed spending time fishing with all three of his sons, most especially Daniel. As they grew into adulthood, he took immense pride in their military service and in all they accomplished, never missing a chance to express his admiration.
Known for his forgiving nature, Roman had a remarkable ability to find the positive in any situation. His warm, sometimes mischievous sense of humor and his generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his lighthearted spirit and enduring compassion.
Roman is survived by his sons, Russell and Jeffrey (Toni) Michalski; his grandchildren, Jon Michalski, Megan (Taylor) Austin, Jacob Michalski, and Christopher Michalski; his brother, Walter (Sandy) Michalski; brothers-in-law, Tom Peterman and Ron Peterson; and his sister-in-law, Roberta Michalski.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary; his son Daniel; his brother, Robert; grandson Justin, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Peterson and Audrey Peterman.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
A celebration of Roman's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at St. Romans Catholic Church, 1710 Bolivar Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53221. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until the time of services at the church.
