Theresa Marie
Turzinski
Sep 27, 1959 — Oct 3, 2026
Almond, WI
Theresa Marie Turzinski, age 67, of Almond, Wisconsin, passed away on October 3, 2026, at her home, in the care of family and friends after a short battle with cancer. Teri struggled with mental health and left the world the way she would have wished, being remembered as carefree and independent and not one that had to be cared for.
Teri was born on September 27, 1959, in Iowa City, IA to Maurice and Barbara Volk. She was a 1978 graduate of Mount Vernon High School where she received many accolades for her academic achievements. She was an honor student and quick witted. Teri moved to the Almond/Wisconsin area in 1979.
Teri held various employments throughout her work history. Her most fulfilling work was caring for others as she served as a CNA at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King for several years. It was there that she was known for providing special care for her members and taking pride making sure they had clean clothes to wear, combing or curling their hair to make them feel put together and leaving their rooms spotless. They weren’t just a part of her job; they were people she cared about and who deserved her best care.
Teri will be remembered for putting full effort in all that she did. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed a job well done. She was quite a social butterfly and enjoyed her social outings and gatherings with friends, even to party hardy. She extended kindness and care to many others she encountered. Teri developed mastery in both the garden and the kitchen. She could bring seemingly any plant back to life and could make any meal taste amazing without a recipe.
She was especially proud of her three children; Kendra, Chelsea and Brandon. She spoke highly of them and of their achievements often. Her home was filled with pictures of her grandkids that she cherished. She was especially fond of her annual family calendar/yearbook put together by her daughter.
Teri is survived by her children, Kendra (Dan) Cichy, Chelsea (Joseph) Matejowec and Brandon Feltz; 7 grandchildren, McKenna, Lily, Daniel, Alex, Ryan, Max and Evelyn; her siblings Eugene (Ed) Volk, Michelle (Mikki) (Ronald) Bowden, Leanne (Daniel) Turzkinski, Robert (Bob) (Debra) Volk and Brian Volk and many special friends whom she considered family. She was preceded in death by her parents and longtime friend Alan Feltz.
In accordance with Teri's wishes, she will be cremated and no formal funeral service will be held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family. Family and friends may leave words of remembrance at MWCS.WS.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in memory of Teri Turzinski and all of those battling addiction/mental illness to nami.org or your preferred local mental health organization/charity.
