Wayne (Wayno) Lippert age 73, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Monday December 23rd, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Wayne led a life of courage, love, and adventure.

Wayne was born on February 6,1951 in Wausau WI to Beatrice (Osborne) and Ervin Much.

Wayne attended Wausau Senior High before joining the United States Army in September of 1968. Wayne served two years in the Army receiving an Honorable Discharge. A proud Veteran, Wayne served his country during the Vietnam Conflict where he earned numerous medals including the Distinguished Purple Heart. His bravery and dedication to his fellow soldiers exemplified his character and resilience.

Wayne was a life member of Burns Post #388 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Wayne recently celebrated 45 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cheryl. They were married on December 22, 1979, at St. Stephans Lutheran Church in Wausau. Together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Wayne was a devoted father to his four children, Tanya, John, Robert, and Shannon, and Papa to his six grandchildren Michael, Caleb, Autumn, Logan, Madison, and Leah. His family was his greatest pride and his love was unwavering.

Wayne cherished the great outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting, finding solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. His favorite times were spent at the family cabin up north, where he shared countless adventures, and peaceful moments with those he held dear. Wayne also enjoyed his casino trips, watching the Packers, and his and Cheryl's many Hodag vacations, where he always fell asleep sitting in front of the speakers.

Wayne's strength, kindness, and sense of humor left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a man of honor, humility and had a great love for life.

Wayne is survived by his wife Cheryl (Baker), his four children Tanya Woods (Eddie), John (Becky), Robert (Laura), and Shannon (Chris) Mouw. His six grandchildren Michael Lippert, Lcpl Caleb Mouw, Autumn (Alex) Jones, Logan Mouw, Madison and Leah Lippert. His sister Barbara Dallman (John), Sister-in-law Elsa Lippert, Brother-in-law Gerald, James (Mary), Larry, and Gary Baker, Sister-in-law Tammy Bryant. Along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family, and his loyal buddy Lucky and grand dogs.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, and father-in-law Delores Baker and Edward Baker, his sister Diane Neumann, brother Gilbert Lippert, and sister-in-law Cindy Baker. As well as his loving bodyguards, Midgie, Boots, Cinnamon, Fuzzy, Cocoa, Katy and all of the well-loved grand dog's.

He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Our family would like to thank Aspirus ICU and CCU for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Wayne in his final days.

Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society assisted the family with arrangements.

Private interment will be on a later date in the Veterans Wall at Restlawn Cemetery, Wausau.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday February 23, 2025, at Eagles Club (Wausau) from 1pm-4pm with Military Honors.
