Obituary

Wilbert Heineck age 91 of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Saturday Nov6, 2021, at his home. Wilbert was born on January 23, 1930 to Walter and Mary Heineck. Wilbert graduated from Lincoln High school in Wisconsin Rapids. After school he went into the United States Army where he spent his time on the island of Okinawa. After his service he moved to Alaska where he took a job on the Dewline. That started in Eagle Alaska and went through the Yukon and the North West Territories heading to Greenland. Then he took a job with the Fairbanks fire department. Later he moved back to Wisconsin Rapids and married Betty (Weslaski) and took a job with the Water and Light Works in Wisconsin Rapids as a lineman. Wilbert loved to hunt, fish in Wisconsin and Alaska. Also camping in Michigan and fishing for big blue gills. Wilbert is survived by his sons Richard and John, grandchildren, Steven, Erin and Johnathon. Wilbert is preceded in death by his wife Betty, daughter Debbie, son Paul, his parents Walter and Mary, his twin brother Warren and brothers Lawrence and Earl. Wilber was loved and will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice Care for their compassion and care to Wilbert. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
